Irene Foote

“Mothers are the people who want your dreams to come true even more than you do. “

On January 2nd 2020, Irene Foote passed away after a difficult year of battling through hospital visits, rehab stays, and care places. She was happiest in her home with her bird Fogel and cat Zappy.  Irene loved her family and encouraged them to do whatever made them happy: support, smiles, love and always plenty of food was her motto.

Irene was born January 12, 1938 in Englewood NJ. She grew up with her sister Linda in a close knit German family that always got together for celebrations. Her first language was German, but English was quickly learned when she went out to play with the neighbors.

In 1957 she married Donald T. Foote and they had two children-Donald W. and Dorene. After visiting Don’s brother Russ, the family moved to AZ in 1972.  Luckily Irene’s son stayed in AZ so

she was able to watch her  three grandchildren(Dallas, Erynn, and Kourtnee) grow up. She tried to never miss any of their activities and helped in any way she could. When they grew up and gave her beautiful great grandchildren, she slowed down a little, but still tried to do what she could. Oh how she loved them. She got an ipad just to see what everyone was doing on Facebook. She was so happy that Fogel went to live with Don and Zappy got to stay home with Ronda.

A memorial service for Irene will take place 10:30 Friday, February 21, 2020 at the National Memorial Cemetery 23029 Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024
