We are sad to announce the passing of Dirk Honeycutt on April 28, 2023. He is survived by his wife Robyn, his 2 stepdaughters Christy Clark (Tom), Cari Keller (Josh), his mother Sally Honeycutt, his oldest sister Jonna Mattice (Gary), little brother Mitchell Honeycutt (Rita) and 6 grandchildren; Trinity, Angelina, Capri & Ayris Chanley and Hunter and Cody Clark.
Dirk is predeceased by his father John Honeycutt and sister Maryellen Hammond.
Dirk was born in Owyhee, NV November 3,1957 to John & Sally Honeycutt. He was the second of four children: Jonna, Dirk, Maryellen, and Mitchell. They moved to Sells, AZ when he was 3 years old, to Pinetop, AZ in 1963, and to Thailand in 1967. The family moved back to Parker, AZ 1971 and then settled in Yuma, AZ. Dirk attended Parker High School and Kofa High in Yuma, where he graduated. He wrestled and played football for both High Schools and won many awards. He then attended AZ Western College. Shortly after college, he joined the US Army and was stationed in Germany. After the service, he attended Devry Institute. He then worked at Crane Aerospace & Electronics where he met his wife of 33 years, Robyn.
Dirk and Robyn spent many vacations on Martinez Lake and Hawley Lake. They enjoyed bowling, camping, and leisure days on the water. Dirk was an enthusiast for ASU and the AZ Cardinals. Most times you would find him on the back porch watching football and BBQing.
Dirk was a quiet man, but had many words of wisdom that impacted others. He had a gentle soul and loved his family beyond measure.
A Graveside Service will be held on May 5, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85207.
His loved ones will miss him dearly.
