Albert M Farnsworth

Our beloved father, grandad and great grandad, Albert M Farnsworth, 91, passed away at home in Gilbert, Arizona surrounded by his family on November 12, 2020. Al was born September 10, 1929 in Colonia Garcia, Chihuahua Mexico. His family moved to El Paso, Texas when he was eight years old and eventually moved

to Chandler, Arizona, where they homesteaded a dairy farm. He graduated from Chandler High School where he played basketball and participated in Future Farmers of America. Al served as a missionary in Mexico for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 1949-1952.

He earned his Associates Degree from Santa Monica College and played for a semi-professional basketball team for a short time. Later he met the love of his life, Connie Ackerman. They were married April 17, 1954 and sealed for eternity one year later in the Mesa Arizona Temple.

Al loved farming and owned a vineyard in Mexico for 25 years. He also was President & CEO of Orange-Sol Inc. He was a natural entrepreneur.

Al loved the Lord and spent much of his time and energy building the kingdom. He served as Bishop of Chandler Fourth Ward, Counselor in the Chandler Arizona Stake Presidency, Ordinance Worker in the Mesa Arizona Temple, Mission President of the Quito Ecuador Mission, Counselor in the Mesa Arizona Temple Presidency and President of the Hermosillo Mexico Temple. He also served as a Sealer in the Mesa and Gilbert Arizona Temples. He cherished serving side by side with his sweetheart, Connie. They had a gift for loving others and in turn were well loved.

Church and work demanded much of his time, but home with his family was where he loved to be. Al’s favorite things include Connie’s home-cooked meals, road trips, flying his plane, light hearted pranks, music, teaching the gospel and reminiscing with friends and family.

Al is survived by thirteen children; Steve (Tami) Farnsworth, Connie (Bob) Barnette, Linda (Kevin) Booth,

Dee Dee (Shane) Wright, Eddie (Janet) Farnsworth, Jack (Tami) Farnsworth, Mary (Mark) Mateski, Betty (Russell) Beazer, Thomas (Tyrina) Farnsworth, Tim (Krista) Farnsworth, John (Jera) Farnsworth, Stacie (Danny) Larson, and David (Sarah) Farnsworth. Al and Connie have 87 grand children and 90 great-grand children. He is also survived by his sister Mary Kleinman. He is preceded in death by his wife, Connie Farnsworth & son in law, Shane F. Wright.

Al left this life with an undeniable testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We say goodbye for now, but not forever.
