Ann Lorraine Coffman

February 25, 1933 — May 3, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Ann Lorraine Coffman, whose personality was a blend of both sweetness and spice. Ann departed this world on May 3rd, 2026, at Hawthorn Court in Phoenix, Arizona, after a brief illness.

Ann’s journey began on February 25th, 1933, in Alberta, Canada. She moved to the United States at the age of nine, embracing dual citizenship and experiencing life across Georgia, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Arizona.

Ann was preceded in death by her loving parents—Ezra Clark, Nellie Clark and her Stepmom, Hattie Clark, her three husbands—Dalmond Grieser, David Nelson, and Dewane Coffman—her brothers Ezra “Buddy” and Ira, and sisters Eileen, Grace, and Faye.

Although she has left us, her memory lives on through her children: Allen Grieser (Colette), Marjie Overton (Mike), Howard Grieser, and Bruce Grieser (Kim); her six grandchildren—Olivia, Tyler, Kyle, Shelly, Morgan, and Max; five great-grandchildren; her sister Myrtice Ramsey; and extended family and friends who cherished her dearly.

In her early years in Idaho, Ann worked in the Shoe Department at JC Penny’s, where she met her first husband. She later worked at Seabrooks Cannery, all while balancing the joys and challenges of raising a family. Ann moved to Oregon in 1965, where she became a cherished housekeeper for a wonderful family. She eventually retired with her third husband, in Bend, Oregon and lived there for 40+ years, prior to moving to Vancouver, Washington and then onto Phoenix, Arizona to be closer to her children.

She truly loved her time outdoors, whether gardening, hiking, camping, or boating on the lake. She found delight in watching game shows and soap operas, playing board games with loved ones, and expertly solving crossword puzzles. Ann’s love for animals, her joy in dancing, her unwavering support for the Yankees, and her pursuit of fun with family and friends filled her days with laughter and warmth.

Later in life, Ann found comfort and companionship at Hawthorn Court, relaxing with friends and participating in group activities. She was known for her infectious smile, beautiful hair, fondness of milkshakes and French fries, and endearing care for her stuffed animals (her babies), which made her a beloved figure to all who knew her. She was affectionately known as Mama Ann and Annie Bananie and formed a special bond with her devoted roommate Elisa, whose friendship brought comfort and happiness in Ann’s final years.

Ann’s ashes will be privately returned to nature at Laird Park in Idaho, on the Potlatch River and Cultus Lake in Central Oregon, two of her favorite places.

The family welcomes everyone to leave a fond memory, photograph or happy thought of their time with Ann, for all to enjoy. For those who would like to do something in honor of Ann, contributions can be made to Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, Arizona or to Saving One Life Animal Rescue and Sanctuary or any Animal Rescue you support.

Ann will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
