Annabelle Julia Bossick

passed away September 27, 2018 in Sun Lakes, Arizona at Renaissance Retirement Resort.  She was born in the rural Pennsylvania Dutch town of Alburtis, the daughter of Forrest and Clara (Reinert) Kiefer on July 16, 1920.  Living in Alburtis until she was married, she attended grade school there, rode the train every school day for high school classes in Emmaus, and later attended Business College and worked in Allentown.  During her years in Allentown she met and married Edward (Bud) C. Her love of traveling took her around the world.  As a young girl her travels with her parents were highlights of her life.  After marriage to Bud on March 2, 1946 they moved to Philadelphia, later to Pottsville, Pennsylvania, and eventually to Chandler, Arizona.

Settled in Chandler for the rest of her life, she became active in Girl Scouts, the Chandler Historical Society in which she was named a “Citizen of History” in 2005, Chandler Center for the Arts, and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.  She worked for the City of Chandler for 25 years, beginning in the City Hall which was located on Chicago Street, west of Arizona Avenue.

Once retired, she became a volunteer ambassador for the City of Chandler at a variety of events and at the City kiosk at Chandler Fashion Center.  Her greatest joy was caring for her growing family at every opportunity.

Annabelle is survived by daughters Dee Ann (Roger) Rock and Jo Ann (Tom, deceased) Hannum; granddaughters Jennifer (Paul) Massara and Amanda (Jason) Schane; and great-grandchildren Alicia, David, and Mia.
