Patterson, Annie “Ann” Merle

age 95 of Chandler, Arizona passed away peacefully on the morning of February 17, 2016. Ann was born on October 25, 1920 in Cochise, AZ to Ernest & Nancy Delinda Ingram Trappman and was the youngest of their 7 children. She was raised on a ranch in Tombstone, AZ, went to Jr. High School in Wilcox, with Rex Allen, and graduated from High School in Benson, AZ. She and her husband Gene Patterson moved to Chandler in 1945 where they started Patterson Tillage & Leveling. Ann was always involved in the business, mostly keeping the books. Ann was supportive of her boys in youth activities such as Little League Baseball and also helped other youth in the community. Ann was a member of Flying Farmers of America for many years and was proud to be the Arizona Queen one year. She was very active in many organizations, the Chandler Moose Lodge, AARP District chair, Meals on Wheels, and was an integral part of the Chandler Historical Society as a board member and organizer of the first Pioneer Luncheon. Ann was delighted and proud to be recognized as Chandler Pioneer of the Year in 2005. Ann is survived by her sons Jim and Jack Patterson (Linda.) Ann is also survived by her 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. We have lost a wonderful mother (always caring about her boys,) grandmother and friend. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 19, 2016 at the Ryan Home, 2041 E. Westchester Dr., Chandler, from 1 to 3PM. Donations can be made to Infinity Hospice Care Phoenix, AZ or a charity of your choice.
