It is with great sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Antonio “Tony” Lucas de Miguel, who departed this life peacefully on August 7, 2025, in Chandler, Arizona, at the age of 90.
Born on January 9, 1935, in Aldea del Pinar, Burgos, Spain, Antonio was the beloved son of the late Domingo Lucas Gómez and Catalina de Miguel de Miguel. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Vitorino Lucas de Miguel, Julián Lucas de Miguel, Candelas Lucas de Miguel, Dedicación Lucas de Miguel, and Eliseo Lucas de Miguel. He is survived by his siblings Juana Lucas de Miguel and Porfirio Lucas de Miguel.
In 1955, Antonio immigrated to Arizona from his hometown in Spain in pursuit of honest work and carrying with him the values of dedication, faith, and family that he held dear throughout his life. A man of unwavering work ethic and deep integrity, he cherished his Spanish heritage and the life he established in his beloved Arizona. Antonio was the epitome of a man living the American Dream.
He is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-nine years, Concepción Lucas; his loving children: Lorenzo Lucas (Trisha), José Lucas (Kimberly), and Marisa Farias; and his cherished grandchildren: Anthony Lucas, William Lucas, Juliana Farias, and Valencia Lucas.
Antonio lived his life with humility, generosity, and a deep sense of purpose. Guided by strong values, he was a man of great strength, wisdom, and warmth who had a steadfast presence and a guiding example to all who knew him. Antonio would light up the room when he entered and his witty sense of humor and spirit brought joy to those around him and left laughter as part of his legacy. He took deep pride in his family, honored his heritage, and upheld the traditions that united generations.
A Visitation and Eulogy will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3450 W. Ray Rd., Chandler, Arizona 85226, immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
At 12:30 PM, the Interment will take place at Valley of the Sun Cemetery, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd., Chandler, Arizona 85248, where Antonio will be laid to rest.
