It is with great sadness that the family of Antonio “Tony” Rubin Garcia announce his passing on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the age of 77.
Tony was born in Isabela, Philippines. He led a rich life surrounded by his beloved extended family of Rubins and Garcias in Bacolod City before emigrating to the US in 2002. He settled in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife and children. Tony was quite the survivor. In 2009 he survived a massive aneurism; in 2017 he beat kidney cancer; in 2019 he was diagnosed with lung cancer and survived that one too. Sadly, it was Covid-19 that finally took him.
Tony will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Marieta; children, Precy, Mariton, Francis, Brian; grandchildren, Erika, Ryan, Nicholas, Sebastian; siblings, Richie and Raymund; and numerous other family members and friends.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, Julian and Consuelo, and sibling, Julianing and Mila.
A private family service and a celebration of Tony’s life will take place at a date that will be announced later by the family.
Tony’s family gives special thanks to the many friends and family for the expressions of love we received.
