in Tempe, Arizona. She was born in Mesa, Arizona July 22, 1953, to Kent Jackson Power and Joyce Hicks, the third child out of four. Barbara grew up on Power Road in Higley, AZ. She attended Higley Elementary, where she was the valedictorian of her class. Afterwards, she attended Chandler High School, and later Arizona State University, where she graduated with a degree in Architecture. She worked for Leo J. Miller & Associates for several years, and then established her own firm.
Barbara loved music, restaurants, Karaoke, animals, and spending time with family and friends. She doted on her niece, her nephews, and all their children. She is survived by her brothers, James Oliver (Jill Toolson) Power, Queen Creek, AZ and Patrick Earl (Diane Newton) Power, Bakersfield, AZ, her niece Jana Power, Gilbert, AZ, her nephews Gabriel (Emily Hutchings) Power, Lehi, Utah, Adam (Krista Judson) Power, Gilbert, AZ, and Logan Kent Power, Bakersfield, CA, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her brother Wayne Kent Power.
There will be a viewing at 10:00 on Tuesday, March 26
