Barbara Allen Rebenstorf

Barbara Allen Rebenstorf, lovingly known as “Barb” and “Nana,” passed away peacefully at her home in Gilbert, Arizona on May 3, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born April 7, 1940, in Aurora, Illinois, Barb lived a life full of love, beauty, adventure, and deep devotion to family. In 1975, she and her husband, Ralph Gerald “SONNY” Rebenstorf, moved their family from Illinois to Tempe, Arizona, where they built a life centered around connection, hard work, hospitality, and joy.

Barb was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Ralph Gerald “SONNY” Rebenstorf, who passed in 2021.

She is survived by her three sons: Ralph Allen Rebenstorf and wife Beth Rebenstorf; Bob Rebenstorf and wife Jenna Rebenstorf; and Rick Rebenstorf and wife Barbie Rebenstorf. She also leaves behind her sister, Sandra Cole, along with 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the absolute joy of her life.

To know Barb was to feel welcomed, loved, and truly seen. She had a rare gift of being fully present with people. Whether family, friend, or stranger, she made others feel important through her warmth, genuine interest, and sparkling spirit.

She was known for gathering family together and making every occasion feel special. Barb worked as a real estate agent in her earlier years and later had a long distinguished career working well into her 70s at Chase Bank. Even while balancing career and family life, she somehow made it all look effortless. She was famous for her chocolate chip cookies, cream puffs, chocolate pies, and the love she poured into every meal and gathering.

Barb also embraced adventure wholeheartedly. She loved boating, water skiing, camping, the ocean, and family vacations. Whether at the lake, in the desert, or walking miles along the beach, she brought joy, beauty, and energy everywhere she went. Always impeccably put together, Barb had a grace and elegance that was unmistakably her own.

Above all, Barb’s greatest love was her family. She created a home and a life where people felt connected, cared for, and deeply loved. Her hugs, her radiant smile, and her sparkling blue eyes will be missed beyond words, but the love she gave so freely will continue to live on through all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life honoring Barb will be held on May 23, 2026, with family and loved ones gathering to celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
