Barbara Lynn Rupp, age 79, was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 13th, 1946.
She is predeceased by her parents, Edd Davis and Frances Massey, and her husband Jerry Rupp.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Mariss, son-in-law Robin, son David, brother Dan and sister-in-law Karen, grandchildren Chelsea and her husband YiQiu, Daniel and his wife Susan, and great-granddaughter Davina.
Barb moved to Phoenix, Arizona with her parents and brother in 1957. She graduated from Glendale High School in 1964.
Barb and Jerry were married in Arizona in 1965 and spent the next 20 years living around the world. Their daughter Mariss was born in Arizona in 1965 and their son David was born in Argentina in 1969. They lived in Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Malaysia, the US Midwest, and Saudi Arabia, eventually returning to Phoenix in 1984.
Barb worked at Mervyn’s department store in Phoenix for many years before becoming an administrative assistant at Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management, in Glendale.
She enjoyed watching the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks and major tennis tournaments, especially Wimbledon, which she was able to enjoy in-person once with her family.
Her many interests included paper crafts, cooking, reading, water aerobics, playing Mahjong, traveling with family and friends, and entertaining during the holidays.
Barb was a wonderful hostess, earning her the title “Queen of Snacks.”
Holidays were an opportunity for her to showcase her culinary talents.
Travel was a true passion for Barb, and she was fortunate to visit many parts of the world with family and friends.
Barb was always ready with a laugh and a kind word for everyone. She will be missed by us all. We raise a glass to a wonderful mother, sister, wife, grandmother, and friend – “Salud!”
