Catherine Jo Briggle
(71) of Phoenix, Arizona left her recent life of chronic pain on Saturday, March 19
th
to reunite with her beloved parents, Albert and Joan Briggle, her sister Susan, and husband, Thomas Schollmeyer.
“CJ” was born, January 11, 1951
at St. Charles Hospital (
Toledo
, Ohio
)
, grew up in Curtice, and graduated from Genoa High School in the Comet class of 1969. One of nine, CJ’s adventure began with a stint with the FBI in Washington, DC, employment with Questor (Toledo),
P.I.E. trucking,
Red Ball Express,
sales representatives for union
affairs
in Denver, Las Vegas, and Phoenix,
dispatcher,
and
lastly
as an administrative clerk for the justice system of Maricopa County, Arizona.
She was an ardent Democrat, who worked diligently for years in organizing campaigns and candidate fundraisers, attending party rallies, and promoting social causes. CJ’s travels included treks in Europe, Japan, the fifty states with notable memories made from Colorado, Montana, Arizona, and Ohio. She seldom missed family outings, whether the many niece or nephew weddings, Christmases, and the festive July retreats at the Put-In-Bay cottage.

Jo cruised the seas, played the nickel slots, and became very adept at euchre, p

cle, and as a tournament tested bridge master. Any gathering became a party with CJ.
