Cynthia Marie Sanchez (Porch), 52, passed away on July 20, 2024, in Chandler, Arizona. Cynthia was born on May 27, 1972, to Henry C. and Mary Ruiz Sanchez. Cynthia, a native Arizonan, was born and raised in Safford, Arizona, but lived in Chandler, Arizona for 20 plus years.
Cynthia graduated from Safford High School and went on to attend Eastern Arizona College on a full Nursing degree scholarship. She spent over 20 plus years working as a Benefits Coordinator with both Desert Oncology and the Ironwood Cancer and Research Center.
Cynthia enjoyed spending her time with her family. She was a basketball mom and traveled quite often in and out of state, rooting for her son Kingston in his pursuit to play collegiate basketball, she was his biggest fan. She also enjoyed thrifting and spending weekends with her daughter Zion. Everyone who knows Cynthia and Zion knew that they were inseparable and that they enjoyed spending time together, whether it was shopping at Ross, TJ Max and of course Walmart or going to Dutch Bros and getting pedicures. Cynthia also enjoyed donating her time to feeding the homeless throughout the valley, and often would buy random homeless people living on the street’s clothes, shoes, and other necessities.
Cynthia also loved animals; we believe she loved animals more than humans. She lost her favorite dog of 10 years on January 5, 2024, his name was Rasta. Cynthia and that dog were inseparable. Our home has always been filled with animals: birds, dogs, rabbits, fish, etc. She leaves behind her dog Marley, which she loved more than life itself…she also leaves behind a rabbit who lives in the hallway of our home…his name is Mr. Bentley. Her love for animals is so deep we believe she should have been a veterinarian. In Cynthia’s transition we have added a new family member, a Cane Corso mix named Ziggy.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Mary Sanchez and grandparents Ramon and Rachel Ruiz.
Cynthia is survived by her husband Frank Porch; children Kingston Porch, Zion Porch, and Saadiq White; brothers
Henry Sanchez Jr and Isidro Sanchez; sisters Jasmine Sanchez, Rebbeca Ornelas, and brother-in-law Robert Ornelas; her favorite cousin, who she adored more than life, Patricia Sanchez and her husband Efrain Cortez; aunt Lisa Ruiz, uncle Ray Ruiz and numerous nephews and nieces that she loved dearly.
The family still has a GoFundMe account that will be used to help the kids with their sports and other needs.
The family also requests donations be made in Cynthia’s name to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
