Daniel Kent Cripe
Daniel Kent Cripe, age 67, of Chandler, AZ, passed away peacefully at Chandler Regional Medical Center surrounded by family and loved ones on April 21st, 2023.
Dan was born on January 31st, 1956, to Kenneth and Marjorie (Herman) Cripe in Beatrice, NE. Dan spent his early childhood in Wymore, NE before graduating from Ruskin High School in 1974. After graduating, Dan joined the Gage County Sheriff’s Office as a Night Dispatcher. Dan later became a Gage County Deputy Sheriff. After spending more than 10 years in law enforcement, Dan became the owner of 3 Godfather’s Pizza franchises in Nebraska and Iowa.
On June 10th, 1978, Dan married the love of his life, Cheryl Lee Rossell. In 1987, Dan and Cheryl had their only child, Joshua Daniel Cripe. Dan and Cheryl were happily married for almost 45 years.
In 2007, Dan and Cheryl moved to Chandler, AZ to be closer to family. Dan worked for Chandler Regional Hospital as a Security Officer and Supervisor from 2007 until his passing.
Dan loved sports, especially Husker football (Go Big Red!), as well as golf, playing poker, going to concerts (usually Pink Floyd), and traveling with Cheryl. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and being Josh’s dad.
Dan Cripe was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Marjorie (Herman) Cripe. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Rossell) Cripe, son, Joshua Cripe and his fiancée Kayla Gebhardt, and siblings John (Judy) Cripe and Nancy (Mike) Henderson. He is also survived by one niece, Merri (Scott) Chappell and three nephews: Michael (Andrea) Henderson, Matthew (Jill) Henderson, and Mitchell Henderson. He was well loved by his great niece and eight great nephews. He is also survived by multiple friends and coworkers.
His Memorial Service will be held at Sun Valley Community Church – South Gilbert, 5545 S. Lindsay Road, Gilbert, AZ 85298 on April 29th, 2023, at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
