Daniel T. Krueger, 91, Chandler, Arizona, passed away on January 7, 2026, after months of illness stemming from Nocardia which he survived 16 years ago. Born to Alfred and Elvira (Lattoni) Krueger in Merrill, Wisconsin, on July 4, 1934, he was the second-born in his family.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers - Byron and David, son - Kalen Daniel and father/mother in law.
Survived by his wife Jean Ann (Tracy) Krueger; daughter Debrah Belz/James; sister Judith Buursma/Charles; daughter-in-law Dee (Ruegsegger) Krueger. Four grandchildren, Jason Belz/Jennifer; Anthony Belz; Sara Majorczak/ David; Kalen Krueger Jr; Five great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Double Cousins, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Daniel was a graduate of Merrill High School and went on to Emmanuel Missionary College. After six weeks of college, it was back home to Merrill and being the comedian he was, he said, “he learned all there was to learn.”
At a wedding reception, the two met and the love bug bit. March 10th, 1954, they began their journey of 71 years. During their courtship, his important question to Jean was, “What part of the egg do you eat?” Her reply, “The white,” his answer, “let's get married as I eat the yoke.” For 71 years, the egg had been separated.
They were blessed 11/28/1955; with a daughter, Debrah Jean (Debbie). One thing Daniel did not want was a redheaded baby. At the birth of Debbie, nurse Vignelli at the Merrill Hospital, told Daniel, “you have the most beautiful redheaded baby girl.” “That's ok, I like the color of Evelyn’s hair,” (mother-in-law.) To his surprise, Debbie had a full head of black hair, then on 3/4/1959, a son entered the world, Kalen Daniel.
His career began in Merrill, working with his father's masonry company where his trade was brick/stone and plastering. In 1973, the family headed to Arizona to test the winter weather, as wintertime in Wisconsin would bring an illness to their son. Chandler, Arizona would then become their home.
Daniel became a licensed Mason Contractor and was very artistic. You will find many fabulous brick and stone fireplaces, barbeque grills inside the home and out, houses, patios, walkways, and commercial buildings in the Phoenix Valley all the way to Sedona Arizona. To name a few customers: a fireplace in the Street of Dreams; stone floor for Tex Earnhardt; brick walkway for Paul Harvey; brick house/ fireplace inside and out for Partition and Accessories, a Louie Borelli company. Many other famous people enjoyed his work.
Daniel was very involved in the Chandler SDA Church where Daniel and Jean are Charter members which began in their home. Daniel and Kal built the chapel where he was an Elder and head Deacon, a larger church was built later.
Daniel will rest in peace until that glorious morning.
