, 21, of Gilbert, Arizona, died January 14, 2019 as a result of an accidental drug overdose. Daniel was born to Alexander Thomas Richmond and Robin Richmond Latto on October 29, 1997 at Desert Samaritan Hospital. He was welcomed into the world by his parents, big sister (Heidi), and great-grandmother (Anne “Nana” Resnick). He was a beautiful baby and a handsome little boy. In April of 2001 he became a big brother as the family welcomed Natalia to the world. He adored his little sister and wanted to protect her and keep her safe.
Daniel loved his family and made wonderful memories on camping trips, vacations, and plenty of mischief with his siblings and cousins (Joe and Noah). Growing up, Daniel frequently showcased his violin talents – much to the delight of others. In high school, Daniel wrestled, played football and spent time making lasting friendships. One of Daniel’s proudest accomplishments was becoming an Eagle Scout. Music was a big part of Daniel’s life and he enjoyed going to concerts and singing karaoke. Daniel loved children and animals; he left behind his dear Goddaughter Saylor and his beloved dog Benny (who is now in the loving care of a close friend).
Daniel is survived by his parents Alex and Robin, his sisters Heidi and Natalia and stepsiblings, Mandy, Reese and Hannah. He also leaves his stepfather, Eric, along with grandparents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. His family is heartbroken but cognizant of how blessed they were to have known him. They hope his death can help prevent others like it.
Daniel had a heart of gold. He made everyone around him laugh with his quick wit and inimitable charm. He was brilliant and kind and made the world a better place by simply being in it.
Services will be held at Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, 6400 W Del Rio St, Chandler, AZ 85226, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday January 26, 2019.
