passed away on October 4th, 2016. He was born in Grenola, Kansas on January 21st, 1933 to

Jeff

J. and Mable Stiles. A

lifelong

Christian, he was baptized in 1944 and was an active member of Chandler Christian church until the time of his passing.

He moved to Chandler with his parents and family in the mid 1940’s. The Stiles family owned and operated a dairy farm until the mid 1970’s.

Darrel worked as a large equipment mechanic for WR Skousen until he retired. He was a machinist and a welder. His father often commented that there was not anything that Darrel could not fix or build. Darrel loved machinery, airplanes, and cars. He owned his own airplane for many years and his family enjoyed going for short trips in “Opa’s” airplane.

He served in the US Army in the early 1950’s. He met his wife while he was stationed in Dexheim, West Germany. Ilse and Darrel were married in Chandler in 1956. Their marriage lasted 53 years until Ilse’s death in 2010.

He is survived by his three sons, Thomas Stiles and his wife Paula, Steve Stiles and his wife Leann, and Dan Stiles; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren;

his

brother, Richard Stiles, and his companion, Julie Kelley.

Services will be held at Bueler mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive in Chandler, AZ on Friday, October 7. The family will be available

from

9 AM to 10 AM for visiting and services will begin at 10 AM.
