David “Mike” Aho passed away on June 20, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born on April 11, 1941, in Crystal Falls, Michigan, to Swante and Crystal Aho.
After graduating from Forest Park High School, David proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963 as an airplane mechanic. Upon completing his service, he returned home to Crystal Falls, where he met and married Nancy Mayhew. Together, they shared 51 years of marriage until her passing in 2015.
In 1964, David began his career with the Michigan State Police, serving as a sergeant until his medical retirement in 1981. After retiring, he enjoyed woodworking, creating arts and crafts, reading, and traveling across the United States.
In 2020, David found love again and married Maureen “Molly” Linton, with whom he shared the past five years.
David is lovingly remembered by his children, Dan (Teresa) and Melissa (Paul); his grandchildren, Drew and Dan Jr.; his great-granddaughter, Daniella; and his step-grandchild, PJ.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday July 2nd from 6 to 8 PM at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary; 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225. There will be a rosary prayed for David at 7 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday July 3rd at 10 AM at St. Stevens Catholic Church; 24827 S Dobson Rd, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248, with a graveside ceremony to follow at the National Cemetery of Arizona.
