David Anthony Lamm

David Anthony Lamm, 90 passed away in Chandler, AZ on November 4, 2021. David was born to Mike and Mary Lamm in Ashtabula, Ohio, graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1949, was drafted into the Marines in 1951 and served in Korea.  He was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded twice. Upon returning home, married his hometown sweetheart Janet Marie Merlene. David was a jack-of-all-trades kind of person, who could do just about anything.  He finally narrowed down his choices of work and became a journeyman plumber, retiring from Mesa Public Schools in 1994. In 1995, he and Janet purchased a new 5

th

wheel trailer and headed to Alaska for the summer.  From that point on, they traveled each summer in either Canada or US for 20 years, until David’s health demanded a stay closer to home.  During the winter months, they used their timeshare and exchanged it for Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Canada, Italy, England, and Spain.  Because of their love of travel, they also took cruises to the Caribbean, inside passage to Alaska and the Rhine River. David is survived by his wife Janet, his daughters Kathleen Ann Brown of Phoenix, Julie Marie Smith of Gilbert and son Michael Lamm of Mesa, Grandsons Christopher Lamm of California, and Matthew Smith of Mesa. Son Thomas Lamm preceded David in death as did his sister Marie Baughman.

A Service was held at Bueler Mortuary and a Funeral Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chandler, AZ.  A Military Service was held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ.
