Debbie Knight

God must have needed a special angel when he took His daughter, Debbie Knight, home with Him. A native Arizonan born in Mesa on June 16, 1959, Debbie lovingly touched the lives of family members, friends, real estate clients, Kiwanians, and everyone else she met. A graduate of Sunnyslope High School, Debbie has been making an impact in the lives of her real estate clients for the past 44 years. She rarely advertised yet maintained a loyal client base because of her industry expertise and unwavering ethical principles. Debbie considered her clients to be family, and many of them have remained valued friends to this day. An avid Dodgers and ASU Sun Devils supporter, Debbie was also a frequent patron of the arts, attending many concerts and plays with her husband and children. Always active in the community, Debbie has served on the council of two Lutheran churches and on the boards of both the Shalimar Association, where she was president for several years, and the Tempe Kiwanis Club. Her favorite roles, however, were those of wife, parent and, especially, being a grandma to her precious grandchildren. Another of Debbie’s loves was traveling, both within and outside of the U.S., and her “happy place” was at the beach, particularly the beaches of Maui, where her family will someday lay her earthly remains to rest. Left to both mourn her passing and celebrate her life include her husband, Mark Wenz; daughter Samantha Wilson, son-in-law Brandon, and grandchildren Aubrey, Brody, Harper, and Liliana; son Luke Wenz and his fiancee Tori Tramp; father James Knight and his wife Sharon; mother Jo Buttery; brother Jim Knight and his wife Debbie; mother-in-law Delores Wenz; and several uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and in-laws. The love Debbie shared with the world remains to light the lives of all those she encountered as she nestles now in God’s loving arms.  Those who would like to mourn Debbie’s death and celebrate her life are welcome to attend her Memorial Service at Desert Cross Lutheran Church in Tempe, 8600 S. McClintock Dr., Tempe, AZ 85248. The service will be held on Saturday, June 10th at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary.
