Debra Lee (Bornemann) Amrozowicz
, age 60, of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away peacefully, on Friday, January 1, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 27, 1960, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, to Charlie and Kathleen (Kuenzel) Bornemann. Debbie met Phillip Amrozowicz at Tempe First Assembly of God, where they were married on October 14, 1989. One of Debbie’s most cherished moments was the day she became a mother, when she and Phillip adopted their son, Craig.
Debbie had a strong faith in God, she loved to sing, and was on the praise and worship teams at many of the churches she attended. Debbie had many talents. She enjoyed sewing and made many outfits throughout the years. She loved to bake, especially during the holidays. Christmas was her favorite holiday, when she would make several dozen Christmas cookies using old family recipes.
Debbie retired from America West Airlines in 2001. After retirement, she and Phil moved to Texas, where she worked for Saginaw Eagle Mountain School District as secretary to an assistant principle. They later moved back to Arizona, where Debbie worked as a secretary at Legacy Traditional School – Chandler Campus. She also ran her own home-based business as a Home Interiors/Celebrating Home displayer for more than 25 years.
Debbie had an infectious smile that would light up any room she entered. She was a shining light to all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Phillip; son, Craig; parents, Charlie and Kathleen Bornemann; parents-in-law, Tom and Carol Amrozowicz; brothers, David (Cindy) Bornemann, Daniel (Amy) Bornemann, and Dale Bornemann; brothers-in-law, Michael (Melanie) Amrozowicz, Mark (Rhonda) Amrozowicz, and Paul (Cinda) Amrozowicz; Sister-in-law Sheri (Kevin) Brown; along with nieces and nephews.
Debbie was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Cyndi Bornemann.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Desert Springs Church, 19620 S. McQueen Rd. Chandler, AZ. Rev. George Thomas Amrozowicz will officiate. Due to COVID, masks and social distancing are required. The service can be accessed via Facebook through Debbie’s page.
