Delfor Maria Alvarez
was reunited with his eternal companion on April 30
th
, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Delfor was born on May 29, 1918, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He came to United States with his wife and two children 61 years ago, where their third child was born. Delfor stayed in Arizona the rest of his days. He dedicated his life to his family, friends, and his faith. His life of service to his faith and others set an example for all to follow. Delfor is survived by his children, Elisabet E. Cardona (Hector-deceased), Del M. Alvarez (Jo Ann), and L. Lynette Speroni (Bill), and grandchildren, Shawn, Giselle (Chris), Chari (Wade), Marci (Troy), Lance (Anna), Chase (Tiffany), Briana (Aaron), and Samantha. Delfor’s greatest joy were his eight grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was seldom found without a child on his knee. He made each child feel special and loved unconditionally. He was adored by all of his family. He was a man of few words but was a prolific writer of poetry, through which he expressed his feelings and revealed a man with a very tender heart. He had a deep gratitude for God’s love and tender mercies and blessings and acknowledged the source of his blessings through his poetry. His ability to recite poems from memory stayed with him to the end. He would always remind his family to “Remember the Alamo” … His way of reminding us to remember those things that were most important…We will remember, ALWAYS. Until we are together again for time and all eternity.
