Dennis Wayne Roberts entered into his eternal rest with the Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2020

His given name was Dennis; however, he was known as Wayne or by his nickname of “Bo”.

Wayne was born on September 19,1934 in Apache Oklahoma.  He was the 9

th

and final child of Charles Elmer Roberts and Elfie Blanche Munkres Roberts. Wayne is preceded in death by his loving parents and his sisters, Garvene and Arlene and his brothers, Lionel, Varvel, Carlyle, Buford, Clifford, and Charles Elmer Jr.

Wayne was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Marie Moore Duncan, who passed away in 1983.

Wayne’s second marriage was to Mary Ann Carter who passed away very suddenly after just one month of marriage.

Wayne is survived by his wife Sheri Lynn Mayes Roberts, Sheri’s sons Chris and Michael Cinquini, brother Lee (Arthur) Mayes, sister-in-law Kim Horton and his mother-in-law Kathleen Standley.

Wayne is also survived by 7 nieces and 5 nephews and their families of his Roberts family.

Wayne is also survived by Jerry and Dorothy Duncan of Tempe and Jim D. and Linda Duncan of Ft. Lupton, Colorado. Adding to Wayne’s legacy are many members of the Duncan clan.  At last census this past week we number somewhere in the vicinity of 70.

Wayne graduated from Morenci High School in 1953.  Like anyone who has ever lived in Morenci and Greenlee County who Wayne was and who he became were all founded in the copper mining town of Morenci.  He always considered himself a Morenci boy.

Wayne worked for Phelps Dodge in Morenci and retired from ASARCO in Kearney.

His passion in his later life could be found in the Valley Baptist Church in Mesa.  His church family and singing in the choir brought much joy into his life.

Wayne’s quiet nature, love of life, family, friends and the outdoors and his smile will abide with us until we meet again.
