Dilllie Mae Collum (Mccullough)

Dillie Mae Collum (McCullough), age 99, went to be with Jesus on April 10, 2023. She was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama on November 18, 1923, the oldest of 9 children born to Ruth & Jimmie McCullough. She passed away in Chandler, Arizona where she lived for 35 years. Mae was a woman of faith and an active member of her church communities. She devoted her life to caring for others, which was evident in her volunteer work and childcare service. She loved the outdoors and was an avid walker. She enjoyed quilting, painting, crocheting and was an expert seamstress. Mae also had a fondness for hummingbirds and butterflies.

In 1942 she married Manus Walter Collum Sr. (preceded in death), and they had 4 children Manus Jr. (preceded in death), Roy, Jimmie (preceded in death) and Connie. Her pride and joy were her 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mae was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be remembered for touching the lives of all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

A Graveside Service will take place at Barton Cemetery in Cherokee, Alabama on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 12:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will take place in Summer 2023 in Chandler, Arizona. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital a cause dear to her heart.
