Dona Willene Dawson

Willene Dawson, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away on July 15, 2026, to join her beloved husband of 40 years, Johnny, her father and mother Alfred and Ruby Murphy, and her four brothers, Dean, Dale, Sam, and Danny. 

Willene and Johnny had been lifelong residents of Center, Arkansas. In the mid-1950s, they moved to Chandler, Arizona, where they lovingly raised their three children on a local dairy farm. Willene retired from her role with the Chandler School District, where she was adored by students and staff.

 A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Willene will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her deep love for her family, her strong determination, her love of singing, and her incredible ability to always have a meal ready for anyone who sat down with her, showcasing her amazing cooking, baking, and company skills. 

Willene is survived by her children, Colette Dawson (Don Hamm) of Livingston, Texas; John Dawson of Chandler, Arizona; Matt Dawson (Cass) of Gilbert, Arizona; and her two grandchildren, Taylor Lucas (James) and Travis Dawson (Katie). The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all her friends for their prayers and support.
