Donna Mae Cowles

Donna Mae Cowles passed away on November 28th, 2018 at the age of 83 at Chandler Regional Medical Center. Donna was an Arizona resident for 45years and lived in Chandler since 2004. Donna was born on June 26th, 1935. She married Stanley Park Cowles on Easter Sunday, April 10th, 1955 at Bethany Lutheran Church in West Union, Iowa.

Donna worked at Humphry Dairy and Interstate Power Company, both in West Union, Iowa. After moving to Arizona in 1973, she worked for Valley National Bank, Bank One, and Arizona Federal Credit Union. During her career in banking, Donna received numerous superior service awards. Donna was best known for her cooking, baking, and entertaining. These complimented her love for serving others.  Donna loved serving in various ministries at church throughout the years, such as teaching Sunday school, coordinating meals for people in need, and hosting Bible studies.  All those who knew Donna and had experienced her hospitality will miss the love she poured into everything she made.  We will especially miss her Christmas cookies, peanut butter cups, red velvet cake, and her delicious lasagna.

Donna was preceded in death by two sons, Kenis Wayne and Mark Stanley; and her mother, Helen Askelson Barness. She is survived by her husband, Stanley; daughters, Kandis Barnum (Mark) of Waxhaw, NC; Marla Hostetler(Patrick) of Chandler, AZ; and Jodi Nunn (Simon) of Colorado Springs, CO; son Lee Cowles (Catherine) of Gilbert, AZ; 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and her brothers Ron Askelson (Phyllis) of Chandler, AZ; and Ken Askelson (Martha) of Chandler, AZ.
