Doris Miars (June 10, 1951 – September 24, 2021)

Doris (Harris) Miars

, age 70, passed away peacefully Friday, September 24 in Gilbert, Arizona.  Born in Dunkirk, Indiana to Earl and Callie Ray (McCowan) Harris.  She graduated from Dunkirk High School and attended First Freewill Baptist Church.

She was quite proud of working from age 17 until her retirement at age 67 without a lapse in any years.  She had several jobs over the course of her work career starting at Boston’s Store in Dunkirk, Indiana at age 17.  She loved working for several years at Stantec, a global engineering and consulting firm in Phoenix, Arizona as an HR manager.  Her most recent job was for Stoops Buick and GMC dealership in Muncie, Indiana, and was always amazed when people recognized her from appearing in some of their commercials.  She made several lifelong friends throughout her work history.

Surviving is one sister, Estell (Collins) Sisco, Crawford, Tennessee, and a friend she thought of as a sister, Linda (Bob) Phillips, Las Vegas, NV, a sister-in-law, Glenna Harris, Dunkirk, Indiana, three nieces, Melody (Randy) Kummer, Villa Rica, GA, Sandy (Scott) Sisco, Dunkirk, Indiana, and a very special niece Amy (Tyler) McCallum, Gilbert, AZ.  Also, surviving are one aunt, Dorothy Walker, Dunkirk Indiana, and many cousins including Danny Harris, Monterey, TN who was very special to her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, William Maynard Harris.

Arrangements are still pending at this time as cremation was her wish.
