Dr. Marlene Grace Venardos (Falkowski), born on February 24, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona, where she had resided for the past 16 years.
Marlene attended Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, and later earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of New Mexico. She was a highly respected clinical psychologist, recognized for her expertise in diagnosing and treating patients. She maintained a successful private practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she dedicated her career to helping others.
Outside of her professional accomplishments, Marlene enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. She was an accomplished seamstress and gardener and loved spending time playing card games and board games, solving crossword puzzles, and following horse racing, which remained one of her favorite pastimes throughout her life. She also had a deep love for dogs and was passionate about the companionship they brought her.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Leona and Joseph Falkowski; her brothers, Eugene Falkowski and Roger Falkowski; and her former husband, Dr. Tom Venardos, to whom she was married for 27 years.
She is survived by her sister, Pat Kasten; brother-in-law, Robert Kasten; sister-in-law, Joyce Falkowski; her daughter, Vanessa Galvin; her son-in-law, Bryan Galvin; and her beloved granddaughter, Caydence Galvin. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.
Marlene will be remembered for her intelligence, compassion, dedication to her profession, and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures.
