Edna Everett Hall Davis

Edna Everett Hall Davis

Our beloved Grandma Eggnog passed away October 20 at age 94. She was born to Edward and Carrie Hall in Chandler. She graduated Chandler High School in 1945 and entered Arizona State College as a Bulldog that fall. After graduation in 1951, she began her long career as a teacher, teaching in Wilcox, Gilbert, Tucson and Phoenix. She also fell in love with and married Tom Davis in 1957. They had two boys, Thomas and William. In 1965, she and her family settled in Tempe, where she would live the rest of her life. She is survived by her two sons, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Edna never let a moment of her life go to waste. As a young woman she was a Rainbow Girl. While teaching, she became C.O.E. Coordinator at Carl Hayden High School, where she helped hundreds of young people get a good start in life with a job. After Tom’s early death in 1985, she retired from teaching and devoted herself to P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), being a leader of the Chandler Historical Society, being a poll worker for many elections, and travelling worldwide. She was named Chandler Pioneer Woman of the Year in 2007.

Services for Edna will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 2 at Bueler’s Mortuary in Chandler.
