Edwina “Mimi” Carrion-Loucks passed peacefully into Heaven on May 19, 2025, in Chandler, AZ. Mimi was born April 21, 1971, in New York City to Mother, Andrea Panagiotopolus and Father, Eduardo Carrion.
Mimi was a very proud, “Bronx Girl.” She attended PS 105 and JH 127, ultimately gaining entry into the “famed” LaGuardia High School, with its long list of notable Alumni, making significant contributions to the Arts.
Mimi moved to Tempe, AZ in 1991, and earned a BA in Women’s Studies and a Master’s Degree in Social Work at Arizona State University. Around that time, Mimi met a “Jersey Boy” named Doug Loucks and they wed in the Fall of 97’ in Sedona. Two beautiful children, Trevor, born in 2000 and Maya in 2003, made the family complete and they settled into the quickly growing town of Gilbert, AZ.
Mimi worked for Hospice of the Valley for a decade and then chose to focus more on helping Children and their families with Counseling. Mimi loved her children and her dogs with all of her heart. She enjoyed playing Bunco and Pinochle with friends and was thrilled when her favorite restaurant, “White Castle” finally came to Arizona.
Mimi Is survived by her husband, Doug Loucks, daughter, Maya Loucks, father, Rolando Torres, sisters, Toni Dupree and Jessica Torres and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mimi is predeceased by her son, Trevor Loucks, in 2024.
