Elva Vela Munoz

Elva Vela Munoz, passed away on September 4, 2026 in Chandler, AZ at the age of 77, surrounded by her loving family. Her bright smile, loving heart and playful sense of humor will be deeply missed.

Elva was born on November 30, 1948 in Rio Hondo, Texas to Guadalupe and Esteban Vela. As a young child the family moved to Chandler, Arizona where she called home.

Elva’s family also resides in Chandler where family memories have been made over the years and cherished. In her youth she enjoyed adventure and family. In recent years she had a love for nature and the outdoors.

Elva is survived by her siblings Esteban Vela Jr. (Joyce), Gilbert Vela (Sharon), Blanca Banuelos; her four children Robert Vela (Josie), Linda Calleros (Richard), Eduardo Robles, and Vanessa Robles; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Esteban Vela and Guadalupe Vela; siblings Joel, Santos, Abraham, Eduardo, Jesus, Guadalupe, Elena, Rafaela, Corina; and daughter Michelle.

Services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 10:30 am at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, Arizona 85225. Inurnment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1562 E. Baseline Road, Mesa, Arizona. 85204.
