90, peacefully passed away Monday Nov 6, 2017 in Chandler, AZ.

He was born on Aug 29,1927 to Joseph and Margaret (Conrath) Neier in St Louis, MO.

Gene is survived by his two sons Gene (Kathy) Neier of Cape Girardeau MO, Richard (Mary) Neier of

Chandler AZ, daughter Kathy (Brian) Schamel of St Louis MO, his first wife Ramona Neier of St Louis MO,

step daughters Jane Scopelite of Newtown PA, Susan (John) Anderson of Portland OR, Mary (Peter) Green

of Portland OR, Roberta (Dave) Mank of Bloomington IN, brother-in-law’s wife, Jo Ann Leu and many loving

grand children, great grand children,and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents,

his second wife Ruth Scopelite Neier, her grand daughter Cynthia Southern and brother-in-law Robert Leu.

Gene joined the US Marine Corps & served in both WW II and the Korean War. He went on to enjoy a 30

year career as a self employed restaurateur. He was a member of St Stevens Church in Sun Lakes, AZ &

served as a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed traveling, RV-ing, boating, and

early on, snowmobiling.

Funeral services for Gene will be held at St Stevens Church in Sun Lakes, AZ on Wednesday Nov 15,

at 10:00 am. Luncheon to follow at the parish. He will be laid to rest at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in

Mesa, AZ at 1:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus Father Arens
