Hank was born on April 9, 1930, in Tucson, Arizona, to Samuel Winnard Seaney and Maude Alieda Vos. He grew up on Magee Road with easy access to the Catalina Mountains, fostering a lifelong love of the outdoors.
He graduated from Tucson High School in 1948 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Arizona in 1953. Hank proudly served in the United States Naval Reserve from 1948 to 1956, attaining the rank of Seaman First Class.

Following graduation from college in 1953, Hank joined Magma Copper Company in Superior, Arizona. In April 1954, he transferred to the San Manuel Mine, where he advanced through the ranks and was eventually promoted to Mine Manager in 1977. In 1983 Hank was awarded an honorary Mining Engineering degree from the University of Arizona for working in the copper industry for 30 years. He retired from Magma Copper Company in 1988.
In retirement, Hank and Joan enjoyed traveling together. His favorite destination was Baja California, Mexico, which he visited often. He loved fishing and shooting and treasured the home they built in Oracle, Arizona. An avid hiker, Hank found great joy in Arizona's deserts and mountains throughout his life.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents; Samuel and Maude Seaney; his sister, Cornelia; his son, Hendrik William Seaney; his grandson, Samuel A. Seaney; and his beloved wife, Joan.
He is survived by his children; Margaret (Karl) Hendrickson and Jim (Vanessa) Seaney; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Carper, Erin (Matt) Guerena, Daniel Seaney, Thomas (Brooke) Seaney, Caitlin Seaney, Jake (Quinn) Hendrickson, Zack (Ashley) Hendrickson, Amanda (Mark) Stern, and Kristen (Matt) Severino; step-grandchildren Ryan Clark and Robyn Liddiard; and 15 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
