Ines Irma Lagorio Romero

Ines Irma Lagorio Romero, age 98, passed away peacefully at her home in Gilbert, Arizona, on August 23, 2026. 

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on December 8, 1927, Ines lived a rich life defined by elegance, devotion, and a deep love for music. A gifted musician, she shared her passion with others as a piano teacher, famously filling her home with the beautiful, stirring melodies of traditional tangos. Ines also loved to play tables games with friends and family.

 Ines balanced her life between the vibrant pulse of the city and the quiet, grounding beauty of a farm near Trenque Lauquen, where she lovingly raised her two daughters across both worlds. Later in life, driven by her deep devotion to family, she followed her two daughters to the United States and proudly became a U.S. citizen. Settling in Arizona, she embraced a vibrant new chapter, working to teach Spanish-speaking children in the Phoenix Elementary District #1, where she continued to touch young lives with her patience and warmth. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Teresa Lagorio, and her dear brother, Osvaldo Lagorio.

Ines is survived by her devoted daughters, Ines Mabel Alfaro Maple and Maria Teresa Alfaro Lane; her three beloved grandchildren, Lucy Ann Alvarez, David Alvarez, and Andrea Maple Acosta; and her six cherished great-grandchildren, Hannah McCarly, Natalia Alvarez, Leo Alvarez, Elliana Acosta, Melina Acosta, and Lila Acosta.

A visitation will be held for Ines at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday August 29, 2026 at the Church of Latter Day Saints; 777 East Elliot Road, Gilbert, AZ 85234. Her funeral service will begin at 9:00 A.M. The graveside service will take place following the funeral at San Tan Memorial Gardens; 22425 East Cloud Road, Queen Creek, AZ 85142.
