Longtime resident of Chandler, AZ, passed away February 12, 2016, in Chandler. She was 72 years old at the time of her passing and was surrounded by her family members. Iris came to Chandler when her parents moved from New York in 1947. Her father was the maitre’d and concierge of the San Marcos Hotel in its heyday. Iris was a long time parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Chandler and graduated from Seton Catholic High School. Iris is survived by her two daughters, Marie Wilson and Stella Tomlinson, two sons-in-law, five grandchildren, and one great grandson. Also surviving is her sister, Inez Edwards, a nephew, niece and their families. Iris was a beloved mother, “Grammy,” sister, aunt and friend. She loved her Lord, her family, her dogs, diet coke and keeping in touch with early morning phone calls.
Services are being held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chandler on Thursday, February 18, at 10:00 a.m. A rosary is being conducted at 9:30 a.m.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Iris’ memory be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chandler.
