Jaime V. Ballesteros

Jan 16, 1945 — Oct 30, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of the leader of our family, Jaime V. Ballesteros.

Jaime was born in Tucson, Arizona, on January 16, 1945. He grew up and raised his family in Tucson for many years before settling in Chandler, Arizona.

He dedicated his life to his wife, Marina Ballesteros, and his three children, Christina (Luis), Erika (Eddie), and Jaime (Sonia) and his beloved Chico. He leaves behind six grandchildren: Jacklyn, Julian (Emily), Diego, Eliana, Elyse, and Mireya, along with his faithful companion, Tootsie.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents Antonio “Tony” and Socorro “Cora” Ballesteros and his beloved sister Ana Araujo.

He had a great career at the University of Arizona before giving it up to pursue his dream of playing mariachi music. He managed his beloved group, Mariachi Tierra del Sol, for over 20 years.

We will all miss his infectious laugh, his love of family, extended cousins, nieces, nephews, musicians, and favorite TV shows.

He taught us how important it is to stay connected with family, to educate ourselves, and to pursue what we love doing.

He died peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2026.

May he rest in peace and bask in the light and glory of his Savior forever. He left all of us beautiful memories and a beautiful legacy. He will be greatly missed.
