It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janell Deloris Scott, age 82, of Chandler, Arizona, on May 22, 2025. Janell was a remarkable woman who touched countless lives with her wisdom, humor, and unwavering sense of resolve.
She was born in June 1942 and raised in Sylvania, GA. She graduated valedictorian from Central High School and went on to attend Morris Brown College where she pursued her passion for classical music.
She later married Henry Scott, Jr. who was enlisted in the USAF. During their 61-year marriage, their journey took them to Europe and all over the US.
She had a long and rewarding career with Hewlett Packard, where she made a significant contribution to the printer and disk memory divisions until her well-earned retirement. Beyond her career, she was a true advocate and champion for others, always standing up for what was right and offering her support to those in need.
Her passions were as vibrant as her personality. As an accomplished pianist and lover of the arts, Janell found joy and was recognized in painting, ceramics, sewing, upholstery, and decorating. She approached her creative pursuits with the same energy and enthusiasm that defined her life.
Janell’s sense of humor was unmatched, bringing laughter and light to even the most challenging of days. She was a warrior—our rock—someone everyone turned to for advice, solutions, or just a listening ear. Her intuition, intelligence, and ability to read people and situations made her a source of comfort and clarity for all who knew her. Her insights and remarkable ability to make others feel truly seen and understood were an amazing gift.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Nell C. Maultsby and Henry G. Brittian. She is survived by her husband Henry; children, Christopher, Melody, and Mark; grandchildren, Jordynn, Charlotte and Spencer, and great-grandson, Dio.
