Janet Rae Hall (Edwards)

At the age of 87, Janet Rae Hall went home to her Heavenly Father on October 4, 2025, surrounded by family at her home in Gilbert, Arizona. Janet was born on January 19, 1938, in Lakeside, Arizona, to Rachael Nelson Edwards and Donald Christopher Edwards. She was the third child of six children born to Donald and Rachael Edwards. She grew up on the family farm in Lakeside and nearby Woodland, Arizona. She enjoyed the outdoor and farm life of her young childhood.

As a youth, Janet worked on and developed her musical talents, especially voice. Upon graduation from Chandler High School, Janet received a full choral scholarship to Arizona State University, where she attended for two years. Music was a lifelong love of Janet and it brought her much joy as she shared her talents with others. Later in life, Janet was a choir member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Arizona Choir.

Janet was a devoted mother and wife. Janet and her husband Gordon Hall, raised three children in Tempe, Arizona. She enjoyed being a mother and caring for her children. Janet was a loving sensitive person always concerned about the well being of others. She had many callings in the Church, including service in the Relief Society Presidency in the Islands Ward in Gilbert. Janet had many friends and made many lifelong friends during her life. She enjoyed associating with others and serving those around her. Janet also enjoyed making jewelry and writing beautiful poetry. She shared her jewelry and her poetry with many in her family.

Janet is survived by her loving husband Gordon Gale Hall, her three children and their spouses; Donald Gale Hall and Debra Hall, Denise Rae Clonts, and Diane and Philip Park. She is survived by her brothers Dwight Edwards, Clair Edwards, Leland Edwards, Corwin Edwards, and Harold Edwards. Janet and Gordon were blessed with eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren, whom they love dearly. She is preceded death by her parents Donald and Rachael Edwards and two precious little grandchildren, Kelly Deanne Clonts and Mitchell Clonts.

Funeral services for Janet will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel building, 1150 W. Elliot Road, Gilbert, Arizona. A Visitation will be held at 9:00 am with the Funeral Service at 10:00 am. A Graveside service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 9:30 am at East Rest Haven Mortuary and Cemetery, 4310 E. Southern Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona.

Janet’s family wishes to express gratitude to Hospice of the Valley and dear friends that gave Janet so much love and kindness during her prolonged illness.
