John Garit Deitz

August 11,1955 – July 13, 2022

John Garit Deitz was born in Ashtabula, Ohio. He grew up in farm country with his father mother and two older sisters. He was musical, artistic and was a gifted student. After high school, at age 17, he moved to Arizona. Not long after that, he entered the Software Industry.

John had an outstanding career in the Computer Software and IT industry for almost 50 years. He was well known within both large corporations and small, exciting startups, as a Software Architect, Project Manager, Technology Executive, and Senior Consultant. In every role, he was always considered an outstandingly hard worker, brilliant technologist, a strong trusted leader, and a manager who could make things happen. All of this, while being loved and respected by all around him.

In 2010 he met the love of his life, Laurie. They lived life to the fullest and shared their love of life and happiness with everyone. He loved adventure, traveling, creating music, and participating in many sports, including pickleball, tennis, biking, skiing, ping pong and many others.

Friends were all very important to him, and those that knew him, loved his quick wit, listening ear, and voice of reason. He took on the important, loving roll of a 2

father figure to his niece Tasha, his stepson Tommy, as well as Laurie’s daughters, Brittny and Ashley.  He also loved being “Papa John” to his grandson Sirian.

He will be missed greatly by many. He is survived by his loving wife, Laurie, sisters Cathy and Karen, nieces Tasha and Margarita, stepchildren, Tommy, Brittny, and Ashley and grandson Sirian.

His celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Schnepf Farm’s Big Red Barn, Queen Creek, AZ. In lieu of flowers please donate in his memory to the American Heart Association at heart.org
