In Loving Memory of Johnny Ray Robbins, born July 9th, 1959 to Julius Robert Robbins and Thelma Morris Higgins in Phoenix, Arizona, and raised in Chandler. He passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Through it all, he never lost his sense of humor or his signature laugh that could fill a room and lift anyone's spirit.
Johnny Ray was a man known for his humor and his ability to make friends wherever he went. Whether you were family, a neighbor, or just someone passing through, if you met Johnny Ray, you probably laughed with him—and you likely never forgot him.
He is survived by his loving siblings: his older sister Tommie Faye, his older brother Carlton, his older sister Therrsia and his twin sister Sandra. He joins his oldest brother Reggie, who passed just one-day before Johnny Ray did. They both were preceded in death by their sisters Carolyn, Patricia & Carla in eternal rest.
Johnny Ray leaves behind six daughters—NaTasha, Tia, Patricia, Shandra, Corissa, and Tommie—as well as two sons he helped raise and loved as his own, Gabriel and Abel. He was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren.
Johnny Ray also held a special place in the hearts of his closest niece, LaTanya, and all his other nieces and nephews—some connected by blood, and many more in the Chandler community who simply loved and respected him like family.
He will be deeply missed, but his laughter, stories, and spirit will live on in the many lives he touched. Rest easy, Johnny Ray—you were truly one of a kind.
