In Loving Memory of Joni Bassett
Joni Bassett
, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on November 15th, 2022, at age 57.
Born to Robert and Shirley Cameron on May 26th, 1965, in Portland, Oregon. After growing up all over the country including in Oregon, California, Arizona, Mississippi and Utah, she met her sweetheart Greg Bassett in Logan, Utah.
They were married on May 23, 1986. Soon after, they headed to Arizona. Together, they had 3 children: Brock (Mal) Bassetti, Brittany (Stacy) Greene, and Morgan (Matt) Crovetti.
Joni was blessed with her greatest joy in life, her grandchildren. She was the beloved Grandma to: Lynden, Gemma, Kourtney, Capri, Cora, Brynlie, Stella, Ryder, and Julian.
Joni loved baking, and she was often found making her famous “instant cookies.” She also spent time baking homemade bread with her husband, and chocolate chip cookies with her grandchildren.
She was famous for always being cheerful, accepting, quick to make friends, and the life of the party. Over the years she served in the Church youth programs and Relief Society and volunteered in the PTO and other school functions. Joni liked to go camping with her family, and also for many years helped with and attended the Church girls’ camp, affectionately known as “Mama B.” She loved fiercely, and her door was always open to anyone.
Another passion of Joni’s was crafting. She dedicated a room in her home to sewing, card-making, and so much more. She often worked creating beautiful things for the people she loved. She especially enjoyed listening to music turned up loud (particularly country) while baking, cleaning, or making crafts.
Funeral services will be on December 3rd, at 11am. It will be held at her home church building where she spent years attending the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
