Joseph Theodore Kowalczyk

, age 40 of Chandler, AZ was suddenly called home to be with our Lord on 06/09/2021. Joey was born in Syracuse, NY on February 21st, 1981 to Andria and Nicholas Kowalczyk. He was the sixth of nine children. Joey had worked in building construction as a framer. He loved all things Superman, enjoyed working with his hands, doing projects and could fix anything. To those who knew him and anyone he crossed paths with, Joey was always smiling.  He had a great sense of humor with a big heart. A beloved son, brother, uncle and nephew who will be dearly missed.

Joey is preceded in death by his mother, Andria Kowalczyk. Joey is survived by his father Nicholas D Kowalczyk, sister Audra (Mike) Simpson, brother Jason Kowalczyk, brother Joshua Kowalczyk, sister Kimberly (Sonny) Hopkins, sister Tara (Brad) Strauss, sister LeeAnn Kowalczyk, sister MaryBeth Kowalczyk, sister Jamie Kowalczyk, aunt Nedra Fehrman, aunt Maryellen Masterpole, uncle David Kowalczyk, niece Aleah Hopkins, nephew Nico Secondo, niece Alexis Hopkins, nephew Zach Strauss, niece Hannah Strauss and niece Gemma Kowalczyk.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2021 between 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Bueler Mortuary located at 14 W Hulet Dr, Chandler, AZ 85225.  The funeral will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 11:00AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church located at 19 W Bruce Ave, Gilbert, AZ 85233. An additional viewing will be prior to the funeral at the same location from 10:00AM – 11:00AM.  Burial services will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 12:30PM at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery located at 1562 E Baseline Rd, Mesa, AZ.
