Juan Jurado

Juan “Johnny” Jurado was born on December 18, 1951 to Jose and Mary Jurado in Safford, Arizona.

On June 2, 1978, Johnny married the love of his life, Josie Jurado. Johnny and Josie were happily married for 42 years and had 4 children together, Raimy, Jose, Tony, and L.J, along with Johnny’s two older children Becky and Johnny. Over their 42 years of marriage, Johnny and Josie had 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Johnny had a personality that was big as life!

He loved sports which included football, basketball, and baseball. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and riding roller coasters with his kids when they were young. His favorite teams were the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, D-Back and the Phoenix Suns. He loved to cheer on his grandsons, John and Alex at their football games. Johnny loved to eat out. His favorite food was Mexican food, especially tacos and chili rellenos. He also enjoyed his sweet treats, especially with his coffee in the morning.

Johnny always put his family first and had the biggest heart. He would give the shirt off his back to a stranger and always went out of his way to help others. Johnny’s laugh was very contagious. Wherever Johnny went, he would make friends. He was the kind of person you loved the second you met him and always left an amazing impression. Johnny enjoyed spending time with his siblings. He would get excited when his brothers went to the ranch to visit him and do a cookout. Johnny was an AMAZING father and tata.

Our family was very lucky to have him in our lives, and we will forever cherish our memories with him. We truly lost an incredible person on August 27, 2025. It brings our family comfort that Johnny and Josie were reunited in heaven on this day. Johnny will always be deeply missed, deeply loved, and will always be with his family and friends in their hearts.

A visitation will be held for Johnny on Wednesday September 10th, from 5 to 7 PM at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary 14 West Hulet drive, Chandler, AZ 85225.  A funeral mass will be held on Thursday September 11th at 11:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 230 West Galveston Road, Chandler, AZ 85225. The graveside service will follow at Valley of the Sun cemetery 10940 E. Chandler Heights Road, Chandler, AZ 85248.
