Judith Ann (Judy) Shipanik, née Paulson, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, formerly of Elburn, Illinois and Chicago, Illinois, went home peacefully to rest Friday, 14 August 2026.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents Emilie and Ed, her brother, Wayne Edward, and her beloved son, Michael Adam (Mickey). She is survived by her daughter, Beth Marie (fiancé James Peterson), her granddaughter, Ella Emilie, her dear cousins, Diane Terese Eminger (née Funcik) (husband Jay Dennis) Tom Funcik (wife Angelia), Rick Funcik (wife Kim), and Jack Funcik.
Judy was vivacious and gregarious with a sparkling smile and wry quick wit. Her quips drew laughter from those around her always. She found her fondest and most rewarding career path as a curator and sales advisor of fine jewelry and diamonds. She made many friends during her life and career among her patrons, coworkers, and neighbors.
In retired life, Judy enjoyed her love of food through cooking and dining out, especially with her dear friend, Kelly Vass, who was like a daughter to her. She also spent much leisurely time with friends at “Judy’s Pool” in her Sun Lakes community. She is loved by many, and she will be greatly missed. Pigeon has flown away home .
