In Loving Memory of Loniece Denesha Jordan

Loniece Denesha Jordan, also known as Niecy, was born on March 31, 1978, in Moline, Illinois, to Merry Carol Jones and Lonnie D. Jones. She was the oldest of four children, followed by her three younger brothers, Lonnie Devon, Leon Matthews, and Lance Mylo. Niecy spent her early years between Illinois and Iowa before moving to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1990. She attended Ruskin High School, where she sang in the choir, played basketball and powderpuff football, beginning her lifelong love for the game of football and the Kansas City Chiefs. After graduating high school in 1996, she pursued a degree at the University of Missouri.

In 2001, Niecy moved to Arizona to be closer to family. There in 2008, she began a 15-year career with Verizon Wireless, where she continued to grow and build lifelong friendships.

One of the greatest blessings of Niecy’s life came on March 31, 2008, when she welcomed her son, Syncere Mekhi Preston, into the world on her 30th birthday. Being a mother was one of her most cherished roles, and she loved not only her son deeply but her Godson, Yamir, as well, who she welcomed with open arms in 2019. Their special bonds will forever remain a treasured part of her legacy, Syncere and Yamir will carry her love with them throughout their lives.

In 2012, Niecy met the love of her life, Artis Jordan. Their love grew over the years, and on May 14, 2016, they became husband and wife. Artis was not only her husband but her life partner, and the memories they created together will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved them.

Niecy was unforgettable. Funny, loving, outspoken, and unapologetically herself, she had a personality that could light up a room. She spoke her mind, brought laughter wherever she went, and loved deeply. Her honesty, vibrant spirit, and one-of-a-kind personality left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.

In July 2026, Niecy was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Through this difficult time, she was surrounded by the love and support of family and friends and on October 3, 2026, she peacefully transitioned, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories that will live on forever.

Niecy leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Artis Jordan (Chandler, AZ); her son, Syncere Preston (Mission Viejo, CA); her godson, Yamir Garner (Phoenix, AZ); her father and stepmother, Lonnie D. and Shelia Jones (Quincy, IL); her siblings, Lonnie Jones (Columbus, OH), Leon Jones (Florence, AZ) and Lance Jones (Columbus, OH); half-siblings, step-siblings; extended family; and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Merry Carol Jones; her grandparents, Arthur and Nadean Hayslett; her aunt, Collette “Cookie” Vesey; her uncle, Allen Hayslett; and her great-aunt, Alma Lynch.

As we mourn the loss of Niecy, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived. We will forever remember her laughter, outspoken nature, loving heart, and unforgettable spirit. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories she leaves behind and the love that will forever connect us to her.

Rest peacefully, Niecy. You will forever be loved, remembered, and missed.
