, a beloved husband and father passed away with his family around him on February 17, 2022, at the age of 90, in Gilbert, Arizona.

Louis was born and raised in Highland Park, New Jersey in 1931. After graduating high school from Highland Park High School in 1949 he served two years in the United States Navy during the Korean War.  After completing his service, he continued to serve in the Navy reserves. He was a volunteer firefighter and joined the East Brunswick Police Dept in 1958 where he served for thirty years before retiring as Captain in 1987. During his career with the EBPD he attended and graduated with the 113

th

session of the FBI National Academy in 1978. He was also the President of the New Jersey Juvenile Association under Gov Brendan Byrne, and Vice President of the International Juvenile Association. Louis was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend Eileen Hayes in 1954. After retiring from the police dept in 1987 he moved to Arizona with his wife and youngest daughter and lived out his retirement doing what he loved: golfing and traveling.

His wisdom will live on through his legacy, which was to love and support his family, work hard, and be honest. His work ethic, knowledge, loyalty and support were unmatched and gracefully imparted to his children.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Elizabeth Ruotolo, and his siblings Marie Hancock and Daniel Ruotolo. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of sixty-eight years Eileen Ruotolo, and his children Wayne Ruotolo (Brenda), Michael Ruotolo (Karen), Debbie VanLiew (Ron), David Ruotolo (Andrea), Brian Ruotolo (Trish), and Christy Rodriguez; eighteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchilden.

Louis will especially be remembered for being an honorable and kind man, with an extraordinary love for his wife and children.

Services will be held at a later date.
