Our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lynda Joyce Bailey, age 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 12, 2026. She lived a full, successful, & happy life. In her later years, Lynda was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Complications from a broken hip led to her passing and her reunion with our Savior, her husband Bill, & many other family members whom she dearly loved. We know she is in a better place now & is surrounded by love, family, and friends.
Lynda was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on May 3, 1946, & she loved sharing that she had Canadian & “Irish” roots. She was a beautiful baby & was adopted and brought to Los Angeles, California, by wonderful new parents at just 3 months old. She was a self-proclaimed “overachiever,” was spoiled, & loved working at Disneyland.
She attended college at Brigham Young University, where she was captain of the BYU Cougarette team. She took great pride in earning her bachelor’s degree from BYU. While at BYU, she met Gary Archibald, whom she married, & together they had Kimberlyn, her firstborn daughter, in 1968.
Lynda’s soulmate was Bill Bailey. Bill & Lynda married on Catalina Island, California, & were both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From the very beginning, they were a perfect match. In 1972, Bill & Lynda had their beautiful daughter, Kelly. They built a life together in California until 1976, when they moved to Indiana to continue working in the beverage industry. While in Indiana, Lynda worked at Village Farms as a promotional director at Keystone Square Mall.
Bill & Lynda moved again in 1986 to Arizona, settling in Dobson Ranch, where they pursued a lifelong dream of owning a limousine company. After growing the limousine service with Bill, Lynda dedicated her career to Dobson Ranch as an HOA executive & later as an executive director. She loved her work, excelled in it, & formed many meaningful friendships and professional connections.
Living in Mesa, AZ for over 17 years together, Bill & Lynda loved to travel & golf, throw over-the-top, fun parties for any occasion or holiday, & most of all spend time on their boat in Long Beach, CA, right next to the Queen Mary. Unfortunately, Bill passed away in 2003, & her life was never the same. While it was a very difficult time for many years, Lynda found comfort in spending time with her friends and family, working, & playing tennis and golf. She loved to travel with her daughter, Kim, & her two granddaughters. Lynda also loved to support Dan & Kelly, as well as her grandsons & granddaughter, by attending numerous baseball games and school activities, especially since she was able to live close by as they grew. After living in Dobson Ranch until 2021, Kelly & her family supported Lynda in countless ways. Dan would take Lynda on weekly lunch dates, plant flowers with her, and treat her to plenty of chocolate shakes.
Lynda is survived by her two daughters, Kim and Kelly; her son-in-law, Dan; her granddaughters, Olivia, Brooke, & Abigail (David); her grandsons, Will, Cole, Jack, & Cooper; her great-grandsons, Camilo & Joseph; her sisters-in-law, Sue & Margo; her sister, Barbara; & many other dear friends. She will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing we will see her again.
A viewing will be held at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary; 14 West Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225 on Tuesday, May 19th at 9:00am, with graveside services to follow at Mesa City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her honor to Barrows Neurological Institute.
