Our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lynda Joyce Bailey, age 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 12, 2026. She lived a full, successful, & happy life. In her later years, Lynda was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Complications from a broken hip led to her passing and her reunion with our Savior, her husband Bill, and many other family members whom she dearly loved. We know she is in a better place now and is surrounded by love, family, and friends.
Lynda was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on May 3, 1946, and she loved sharing that she had Canadian and “Irish” roots. She was a beautiful baby and was adopted and brought to Los Angeles, California, by wonderful new parents at just 3 months old. She was a self-proclaimed “overachiever,” was spoiled, and loved working at Disneyland.
She attended college at Brigham Young University, where she was captain of the BYU Cougarette team. She took great pride in earning her bachelor’s degree from BYU. While at BYU, she met Gary Archibald, whom she married, and together they had Kimberlyn, her firstborn daughter, in 1968.
Lynda’s soulmate was Bill Bailey. Bill and Lynda married on Catalina Island, California, and were both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From the very beginning, they were a perfect match. In 1972, Bill and Lynda had their beautiful daughter, Kelly. They built a life together in California until 1976, when they moved to Indiana to continue working in the beverage industry. While in Indiana, Lynda worked at Village Farms as a promotional director at Keystone Square Mall.
Bill and Lynda moved again in 1986 to Arizona, settling in Dobson Ranch, where they pursued a lifelong dream of owning a limousine company. After growing the limousine service with Bill, Lynda dedicated her career to Dobson Ranch as an HOA executive and later as an executive director. She loved her work, excelled in it, and formed many meaningful friendships and professional connections.
Living in Mesa, AZ for over 17 years together, Bill and Lynda loved to travel and golf, throw over-the-top, fun parties for any occasion or holiday, and most of all spend time on their boat in Long Beach, CA, right next to the Queen Mary. Unfortunately, Bill passed away in 2003, and her life was never the same. While it was a very difficult time for many years, Lynda found comfort in spending time with her friends and family, working, and playing tennis and golf. She loved to travel with her daughter, Kim, and her two granddaughters. Lynda also loved to support Dan and Kelly, as well as her grandsons and granddaughter, by attending numerous baseball games and school activities, especially since she was able to live close by as they grew. After living in Dobson Ranch until 2021, Kelly and her family supported Lynda in countless ways. Dan would take Lynda on weekly lunch dates, plant flowers with her, and treat her to plenty of chocolate shakes.
Lynda is survived by her two daughters, Kim and Kelly; her son-in-law, Dan; her granddaughters, Olivia, Brooke, and Abigail (David); her grandsons, Will, Cole, Jack, and Cooper; her great-grandsons, Camilo and Joseph; her sisters-in-law, Sue and Margo; her sister, Barbara; and many other dear friends. She will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing we will see her again.
