Marc Etienne Olivier, the beloved and only son of Beatrice and Albert Olivier, was born in Kettering, Ohio, and moved with his parents to Arizona in 1978.

The Oliviers found a church family at Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where Marc served as an altar boy. A talented musician and athlete, Marc attended Seton Preparatory High School and then went on to achieve a partial scholarship to the University of Arizona for his track abilities. His athleticism was matched by a love of music and piano, and he taught piano to children in the Mesa community. While in college, Marc met Jennifer Durkin; they later married and had one child, Andalyn (Andi).

Marc joined the Chandler Police Department in 2002. His roles included service as a Police Officer and as a School Resource Officer at Pueblo Middle School and Summit Academy Junior High School.

Known for his sense of humor, bright smile, and sense of style and design, Marc holds a special place in the hearts of all who knew him. He is remembered for the talents and laughter he shared and the deep love he gave.

Marc is survived by his parents, Beatrice and Albert; child Andi; his cousins; the Keller family; and a special circle of friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 230 W. Galveston Street, Chandler, Arizona 85225.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the St. Mary’s Food Bank or to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
