Margaret Lucille Harrington Christensen

Margaret Lucille Harrington – Christensen, 57, joined her beloved husband Jerry, her parents Lucille and Florry Harrington, and her sisters, Ruth and Kristina, in Heaven on December 3, 2016. Born April 10

, 1959 in Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho, Margie grew up on the family farm in Post Falls, Idaho.   She attended St. Thomas Grade School in Coeur D’ Alene. She graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane WA. After graduating at the top of her class from Kinman Business College, she enjoyed a long and successful career as a professional travel consultant.   She worked for many years at House of Travel and The Ambassador’s Group in Spokane, Washington. She was instrumental in assisting many of her clients get home safely after the 9-11 attacks. She married Jerry Christensen on May 25, 2002. Together they enjoyed the beauty and community events of the Northwest.  They had a very special love for festivals and October fests.  Margie and Jerry traveled extensively, some of their favorite trips being to Australia and the Oregon Coast. She spent her final years in Chandler, AZ. Here she enjoyed spending time with family, meeting new friends, and swimming in the sunshine.  She loved to shop at Hobby Lobby, browse Zia records, and attend music concerts.  She loved Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, and Fitz and the Tantrums, just to name a few. Other hobbies included helping out with a dear friend’s jewelry booth at various local street fairs and reading.   A few of her favorite authors are Maeve Binchy and Jack London. She also loved to take walks in her Anderson Springs neighborhood and shop at garage sales on Pennington Drive. Margie had a special talent for putting others at ease, and the skill of striking up a conversation with anyone she met.  Margie always had a cute little joke, a kind word of encouragement, and a radiant smile. She simply made you feel special and valued. Margie is greatly missed by family, Christensen and Harrington alike and countless friends.   She is survived by loving siblings: Kaye & Steve Bartlett, Mike Harrington, Pat & Ellen Harrington, Joni & Mike Barnes, Jeanne & Bill Bacon, Marcie & Robin Bowen, Greg & Anne Harrington, Jeff & Regina Harrington, Barbi & David Dowling, Polly & Paul Tucker, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The Funeral Mass will be Friday December 16, 2016 11:00 a.m. at St Andrew the Apostle Catholic Community 3450 West Ray Road Chandler, AZ. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to a Military Veterans charity in Margie’s name.
