Born on February 21, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, Mary was one of twelve siblings and grew up in a bustling household filled with laughter, love, and the values of hard work and community.

Mary's life was a testament to resilience and devotion. She married the love of her life, Felix Godek, in Chicago, and together they built a beautiful life for nearly 70 years. Their union was characterized by unwavering support and a deep commitment to family, traditions, and cherished moments together. Felix preceded her in death, leaving behind a legacy of love that continues to inspire those who knew Mary.

Throughout her life, Mary was dedicated to her family, always prioritizing their needs above her own. She is survived by her devoted children, Larry Godek and Carol Olas, and her beloved sister Gigi Fuechsl, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends, neighbors, and Bingo Buddies. The bonds they shared were unbreakable, a testament to the nurturing spirit that Mary embodied.

Mary built a successful career at Motorola, where she worked in both Chicago and Phoenix, Arizona. Her professional contributions were marked by dedication and a strong work ethic, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. After retiring, she devoted her time to her family and her passions.

A woman of deep faith, Mary was an active member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Chandler, where she found community and solace. She enjoyed participating in various church activities, embracing the sense of belonging that came with her faith.

Mary's hobbies brought her immense joy, particularly playing bingo, a favorite pastime she shared with friends and family. Her love for family was paramount, and she often reminisced about the cherished moments spent with loved ones, including her late husband, Felix. Mary had an innate ability to make others feel special, and her warmth would light up any room.

A Visitation is scheduled for Monday, January 19, 2026 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225. Mary's life will be celebrated during her Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, located at 230 W. Galveston Street, Chandler, AZ 85225. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 1562 E. Baseline road, Mesa, AZ 85204. Those who wish to honor her memory are encouraged to attend and share in the stories and love that Mary so generously gave throughout her life.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience, and her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Mary F. Godek will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by love and the memories of a life well-lived.
